CLIMATE VARIATION
Climate variation includes all the variations in the climate that last longer than individual weather events, whereas the term climate change only refers to those variations that that persist for a longer period of time, typically decades or more. In the time since the Industrial Revolution the climate has increasingly been affected by Human Activities that are causing Global Warming and Climate Change.
Climate change includes both the global warming driven by human emissions of greenhouses gases, and the resulting large-scale shifts in weather patterns.
Climate change refers to any change in climate over time, whether due to natural variability or anthropogenic forces. Climate change is attributed to both natural variability and human activities.
CAUSES OF CLIMATE FLUCTUATION ??
* Burning of fossil fuels, such as oil and coal, which emits greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
* The greenhouse effect causes the atmosphere to retain heat.
* Plant and animal range have shifted
* Glaciers have shrink
* The oceans are a major component of the climate system. They cover about 71% of the earth. The oceans absorb the sun's radiation about twice as much as the atmosphere.
HOW FASHION AFFECT'S THE ENVIRONMENT !!
The fashion industry is one of the major polluting industries in the world. The production and distribution of the crops, fibers, and garments used in fashion all contribute to differing forms of environmental pollution, including water, air, and soil pollution.
The clothing industry is responsible for about 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions and consumes more energy than aviation and shipping combined, according to the united nations environment program.
The impact of clothing industry on environment go beyond emissions. Dyes used to produce toxic chemicals pollute waterways. Gathering the materials for wood based fabrics like rayon, modal and viscose contributes to deforestation.
Right now, the main problem is the volume of clothing that is being produced, which is largely driven by our consumption habits. As clothes become cheaper-and also often cheaper in quality-consumers have slowly lost the ability to repair their clothes. The results, paradoxically, is increased consumer spending on lower-quality clothing.

Sustainable fashion is a movement and process of fostering change to fashion products and the fashion system towards greater ecological integrity and social justice. Sustainable fashion is today a highly debated and increasingly covered topic in media and at seminars worldwide.
When we learn about sustainable fashion we soon realize that there are many forms of sustainable fashion. Some actors and individuals emphasize the importance of making clothes in a more environmentally friendly manner, while others advocate secondhand/vintage or underline the benefits of swapping, renting or borrowing clothes as opposed to purchasing newly produced clothes.

Cheaper yet trendy products, who will not buy them. The fast fashion industries are majorly focusing on the consumer's behavior of buying more and more. No one is worried about the environmental impact of their activity. From growing fibers to the making of final cloth, our environment is one who pays the most. Many communities and groups are formed in the world who are fighting for climate change, only to grab government's attention to the matter. Also the point of sustainability is very important at this point. Everyone should indeed practice sustainability.

DeleteYes sustainable products are most important for today's environment. The pressure to reduce costs and speed up production time means that environmental corners are cut in the name of profit. Fast Fashion's negative impact includes the use of cheap, toxic textile dyes – with the fashion industry the second largest polluter of clean water globally after agriculture.

But we are forgetting this thing that sustainable brands are much more expensive than any other regular brand and not everyone can afford these sustainable clothes.....i wish in future sustainable clothes become much more affordable so that everyone can buy them

You have very well tried to cover all the points in your post and I am sure anyone reading this will get a fair idea about the issues we are facing today.
ReplyDeleteIt is very strange that the planet where we live in, the environment where we breathe, is being destroyed day by day to such an high extent. Now, as we are aware of it very well , we need to save our planet by taking few simple steps as mentioned by you very well. We as a fashion student and reading about these conditions, has a great opportunity to make our planet better, by developing sustainable and making people aware about and adopt sustainable fashion.
